Step 04: Mix cyanotype sensitizer, apply to fabric, and dry. Mix the two stock solutions in equal parts to create the final cyanotype solution. Note that the final solution is only stable for a couple of hours and is sensitive to sunlight, so do this in a dimly lit space when you have your fabric pieces ready to go.

The best paper to use for Cyanotypes is a good quality, watercolour paper. Please check out the video where I explained some of the details about the papers. Watercolour paper comes in different weights, and they are usually specified in pounds and also gsm (300gsm = 140lb). A very heavy card like paper is sometimes specified about 300 pounds.

3. Cyanotype on Ilford paper box. This was a commission from London Alt Photo to use a by product from darkroom photography process, an empty Ilford paper box, and give it new meaning.
